N00b question about tiling bump maps.

In my other post regarding tiling texture maps, one of the forum members, AlexMeyer was able to resolve my problem, but that gave rise to another issue. Now, my bump map doesn't follow the UV coordinates set by the texture map, it makes weird tiles. I've uploaded some screens of my issue as well as my actual .blend file and bump map. AlexMeyer was able to render a correct bump map without changing any settings. Is there anyone who can figure this one out? I'd really like to be able to use all of Blendigo's functions!

I'm going to re-post the images and my .blend file here for easier access for whoever tries to help me.

To clarify for anyone else, I was using 1.0.4, (with blendigo 1.0.1) while pauljohns was using .9 stable. I agree with him in assuming it shouldn't have anything to do with this, but I dunno.

@paul: I had thought of this earlier, could you also upload your .igs file? I figured I'd compare it to mine, just to make sure there wasn't anything screwed up in the uv mapping or something.

Do you mean default.igs? IT's 57.5 MB, which is too big to post for an .igs. I zipped it down to 8.35 MB, but that's too big for a zip file. I can email it you you if you want?

???

How could that scene be 57MB? It's just a plane, camera, and the sun... right?
You exported to default.igs? Not under a different name?

No, sorry, I guess I don't know where to look for the .igs file. How do I make one/find this one?

In blendigo, if you have "default.igs" at the bottom checked, then, yes, it will save it to default.igs. If it's not checked, when you hit "Export", it'll ask you where you want to save the igs file, and with what name. I'm assuming you exported another (bigger) scene since then (your fluid sim?) and it got overwritten.

Just re-export this scene again (make sure it does still have this error) and upload that igs file.

here it is. I may have used one of my other numerous tests. For some reason I had to tun the bump down to .0050 to get the same look. same result though.

Nope, still works. I even re-downloaded .9 to make sure.

You've got one messed up problem buddy... :?

P.S. I'm just gonna say it again, drop in IRC sometime you get a chance. It's usually fun in there anyway.

Awesome. Thanks anyway dude! That's some nice support!
Maybe it isn't my destiny to be able to apply bump to anything...

Well, maybe, just not a floor of tiles :P
You'll find the problem, once, for sure :)
Many had problems with texturing in one scene and the next just worked fine... So, just go on trying ;)

I hope you're right Kram. I tried re-rendering this scene from scratch numerous times with the same results though.

that's really strange :?
Even if it's not that probable, did you also try on 1.0.4?

Sorry for bringing this thread to live again.

I had the same problem as described above but I could not find a solution on the forum after searching but after a lot of trying I found out myself and iI thought why not post it, it could be of some use to others.

If its already described somewhere else, and I did not found it, then ignore this post.

The problem happened to me when I used a png bump map sample picture form arroways texture site.
After trying different bump map values and checking my settings I just kept running into the same problem as above.
Then I remembered that I have used jpeg bump maps succesfully in the past so I converted the png into a jpeg and after that it worked :D

Is this a known problem with png's or am I doing something wrong?

If anyone has any thoughts about this than I will be glad to hear it!

By the way I use indigo indigo_v1.0.1 with blendigo_v1.0.1

That's an easy one, Qwaszt ;)
Arroway textures are single-channelled. You simply need to convert them from Greyscale to RGB ;)
No need to loose your quality by making it a jpg ;)
