I've moved the forums over to the new drupal and phpbb3 site. I'll be working on the site today fixing up bugs and bringing content over from the old site.
If you need to access the old site - it is available at:
http://www.indigorenderer.com:8000/joomla/
Come and join us on the irc room #indigo on irc.enterthegame.com to discuss the new site - or post here.

can we have the 'view posts since last visit' back please
also where do you log out now? or is that not necessary..
edit: well I've been away and come back and I'm still logged in! doesnt it expire either?

There is a buton "Mark forums read" or "Mark topics read" to do that. I like the new way to mark only readed post.
But, for whole Indigo web site, i think is very impersonal... The only particular thing is the little indigo logo, no nice header, no radom thumbnail, no screenshot... this is a very standard web site, like a news site, blog site, all site
For Indigo, I think the first page need to show (with graphic design) the particularity of the render, the community, the possibility of the ranch... many thinks that make Indigo specific and different.
If I cant read english, i realy dont know that I am on a free unbiased render web site (with the actual picture, perhaps a bathroom designer web site ?).
(just my opinion...

This is a big step backward. If this is in an unfinished state, I hope, then maybe the old site should have been left online until the new site was ready. I already miss the new posts button and the overall look and feel is of a first year web students mid-term project.

I believe what you are hoping handsomedave, it's a wip.
Hence
I think the idea is to react on what is there already. I guess benn is looking for a live feedback

I pretty much agree with you handsomedave, though I'm curious to see more...

can we have the login and logout at the top of the forum page too please
and despite my jest about the layout being suitable for elderly members there is just too much space now = too much scrolling

can we have slightly smaller text and less space please - if I set the zoom to about 85% scale in my browser it looks better.
also although I know you are redoing the title page but it would look better visually to have the images at the top of the page in a banner as before I think
HTH and thanks

OK, while, I agree that it could be better, I really love the dark color scheme (it reminds me of Silo3Ds UI..) I hope that this is kept in someway..
Some suggestions :
1) Instead of text based post icons, use icons that graphically convey their function, like the quote button might look like a pair of quotes. Maybe round out some of the corners of the forum icons in general. The hard edged buttons are a little hard on the eyes..
2. For the top links ("Home", "Download", "News", etc) have a more visually appealing way to indicate which one your mouse is currently hovering over.. The current blue underline l looks a tad bit underwhelming.
3) For the news section, have a menu off to the right or somewhere, where you can browse through an archive of old news posts..

there should be lines separating the topics in the forum view
and why doesn't the forum page setup scale to the width of your screen resolution? Way too much space on the sides

ok guys I am going to say this, as unpopular as it will probably be..
you need to fix up the most important shortcomings of the new website fairly quickly.
you already have been through several forum meltdowns which cost a lot of participation.
if you leave the layout like this even for a little while you are going to put more people off.
once you lose the audiences attention its going to be hard to get it back.
if you want Indigo to flourish you are going to have to wake up your ideas
HTH but I suspect not..

You wouldn't want a wide length, as it would then become a lot difficult for reading... look at news paper columns,m they are there so the eyes doesn't get tired

I like the new reduced layout very much.
Nice white-space.
Maybe the typography needs a bit more work, the hover-color should be wether grey, dark grey or another, brighter color than the actual blue.
The start page should contain one big image; maybe with a slideshow, and nice typography (not html-safe-fonts).
Just a little more work on it, and the redesign would be complete and working for me.

Well, studies are made for the average guy, some feel at ease like you, but overall they don't, at least that's what I gather from my teachers lectures
