I was wondering if it would be possible to run indigo on a PS3 through linux??? Rendering times would be vastly improved with the PS3's 9 cores at over 3ghz each. This seems possible, but has anyone ever tried it or heard of it??

The ps3 is not "x86" architecture. Linux (yellowdog) is compiled for the ps3 broadband engine architecture.

So in short indigo's source code would have to be 100% pure c/c++ and must only use linux libraries available for the ps3 platform so as to be compiled using the ps3 version of gcc. Now that said you would still only get use of the 2 cores belonging to the control processor in that case. To make use of the of the "special" cores would require indigo to be coded specifically to make use of them. Something tells me it ain't going to happen.
