Don't know if this would be of use to anyone, but here are a couple sites with BRDF data in different formats.

I'm sure brdf is doable in Indigo, but as to how you can take these sources and get them to work... I haven't tried yet. I'm still a few Indigo versions behind, anyway. Anyone have an answer?

It would be very interesting being able to use this values, a bit like we presently do regarding camera response functions

Hum, I didn't have a very close look, but as I saw it 'till now, it's not like tabulated spectrum but more like a mix of nk and IES data... (angle-based...)
I'm not sure if that's convertible but it looks nice

Measured BRDFs would be nice, but I don't think those sources are very good measurements.

I see, I'd assumed there was an established file format for profiles. Now I see that's not the case.
Does anyone know if this is something that absolutely must be done with precise instruments and exactly controlled conditions? Or could someone with the time and the technical skill build a scanner themselves? (of course if you hace unlimited funds you can pretty much do anything), but maybe a few thousand in this instance?
So far I've only found this to be of much help:
