Simple speedtesting

Hi all! My first post....
I was in the middle of a modelling project, and I thought to test the rendering speed with my own machine and my father's new (and cheap) laptop. After that, I asked my friend to render the same scene with his machine. Some settings (same for all machines):
bidirectional: 1
height: 600
hybrid: 0
large_mutation_prob: 0.40000
max_change: 0.01000
max_num_consec_rejections: 85
maxdepth: 10
metropolis: 1
ray_origin_nudge_distance: 0.00010
width: 800
Indigo was used in GUI mode, set to halt at 400 samples per pixel, save period and display period at 120s. I took all the textures off and used sunlight, so it would be easier to set it up in an other machine.
Machine specs and results (some specs from CPU-Z):
Intel Pentium III 1200MHz, memory: 512MB 133MHz SDRAM
Indigo version used: Indigo Renderer v1.0.6, Windows 32-bit Release build.
num_threads: 1
render time elapsed: 13159.23848 (~3h 39min)
samples_per_pixel: 400.04167
samples_per_sec: 14592.02980
Intel Celeron M530 1.73GHz, memory: 2GB 333MHz DDR2
Indigo version used: Indigo Renderer v1.0.6, Windows 32-bit Release build.
num_threads: 1
render time elapsed: 6084.47745 (~1h 41min)
samples_per_pixel: 400.10417
samples_per_sec: 31563.92668
Intel Core2Duo E6400 2.13GHz, memory: 2GB 800MHz DDR2
Indigo version used: Indigo Renderer v1.0.6, Windows 32-bit Release build.
num_threads: 2
render time elapsed: 3341.06680 (~56min)
samples_per_pixel: 400.08333
samples_per_sec: 57478.64723
Indigo version used: Indigo Renderer v0.9 test 9, Windows 64-bit Release build.
num_threads: 2
render time elapsed: 3167.58820 (~53min)
samples_per_pixel: 400.33333
samples_per_sec: 60664.45130
The machines weren't used otherwise during rendering. The results confuse me, did I do something wrong, I thought machines would be a lot faster nowadays, than my P3...
The actual reason I posted this, is that I'm thinking of upgrading my computer, and I want to know different results from different computers. Is there a good test scene that people on this forum could render with their own computers and then post the results here? I would be happy to test with this P3 and the laptop. I think there was a similar testing project going on with Blender at one time...
