I use qtpfsgui (open source ) to convert hdr>exr

Qtpfsgui is an open source graphical user interface application that aims to provide a workflow for HDR imaging

Yeah it has loads of options, but I found most of the tonemapping methods to produce quite low-contrast or blotchy images.
The Reinhard as used by Indigo still looks the best option. (Apart from camera tonemapping, which qtpdfkjherlgheliuhved doesn't have).

*LOOOL* I know what you mean, but it's very nice to have a free program
to load, save and tone map HDRI files. It's very useful for me! 8) :D :D ;)
