How does one generate models to render in Indigo?

Post by Rocky Shepheard » Sun Jan 27, 2019 11:45 am

I've exported many .igs files from CAD programs and always get this error.

A problem occurred with the scene:
Scene parsing error: Could not root element in file 'C:/Users/squar/Desktop/gggg.igs'.
No Metadata.
Indigo version: Indigo Renderer v4.0.66, Windows 64-bit build.
No metadata.
Please contact support@indigorenderer.com if you have any questions.

Is there only one type of .igs file that works?
I have blender and an 2010 version of Max and Maya.

Also, any .igs files I dl from TurboSquid give same error.
Is there a modeler just for Indigo, perhaps?

Thanks

You are using a ultra old Indigo version, update to 4.2.23 including the needed exporters within and try again:

Ha ha, I just understood the issue here:

igs stands for IndiGo Scene, not the CAD format.
You need to export your scene from a supported 3D app like Blender (instaling Indigo exporter before doing so).
