Win/Mac performance gap

Post by mpro31 » Wed Oct 10, 2018 12:59 am

Hi to all!
I own a dual OS system (macOS and windows) and when I run IndigoBench there is a significant difference in performance.
the difference is about 45% better in favour of windows. My system is mac pro 5,1 (flashed 4,1) with nvidia 980 / High Sierra and Windows 10. I 've also ran Geekbench opencl and there was still a difference but much smaller, like 10%. Do you happen to know what is the problem?

Can you paste your results? Is this CPU or GPU?

Without analysing this in depth it's hard to know for sure, but it's probably due to better OpenCL drivers on Windows.
