Indigo 4 and MBP 2017, anyone?
Indigo 4 and MBP 2017, anyone?
I am planning to purchase new MBP with Radeon 560 4GB. Did anyone used it, what is your experience? How good is 560? I am not planing to use it for final renders, just for developing scenes and materials.

We have a benchmark result for a Radeon 560 on this page somewhere: https://www.indigorenderer.com/benchmar ... =singlegpu
That is a desktop card tho. In the MBP it might not run quite as fast. I didn't find any info about the clockspeed of the one used in the MBP.

I'm using a 2015 Macbook Pro with M370X - works fine with GPU rendering, but lags the OS quite a bit in heavy scenes. It's about 2-3x faster than the 2.8 ghz i7. Your GPU should be quite a bit faster still, maybe 2x.
I have an external GPU box for my heavy duty stuff, something I can warmly recommend. macOS seems to favour AMD GPUs in general if you decide to go for something like that.

Nice. What external GPU box you suggest? It is eGPU right?

Yeah, I built it myself a while ago from a guide here: https://egpu.io
I just have a 7970, but the new Vega GPUs should probably be great.
