I heard the game uses ray traced lighting.. Probably why it looks so nice.

HDR and all that
a few years back all that would have been offline, now it's realtime at fairly high resolution, we sure have come a long way

it's not pre-rendered, it's using the ingame replay engine
even the people look exactly like they do in GT5:Prologue

yeah I can see the differences between the pre-rendered parts and gameplay, the excessive blurry bloom/HDR lighting bothers me

BTW I heard in the Sony Press Conference that this game will be available in 3D for those who have a 3D television
