... or something dirty, plus we don't know anything about the procs behind, and the res is 800x600 max and maybe diffuse only. And since the whole scene is static I don't see why they didn't precompute a lightmap :twisted:

It's a great idea, and I'm actually surprised Ono hasn't (he probably has, actually) experimented with "real-time" rendering using Indigo.

Think about how your renders look after exactly 1 second - that's how every frame looks as you move around the scene, until you pause somewhere.

the problem is, that you loose worthy time with updating, that could also be used for rendering...

...or could that be done with the gpu, without affecting the cpu? :)

Technically it looks identical to what Ian did for his radium renderer earlier :)

I posted few topics about it here and there on several other forums but it didn't get any reaction. It's a VERY handy feature and I hope that with some publicity from Vray, other renderers will catch on and implement it. Same as with Fry's Aeronoise which should be mandatory for every pt,bidir,mlt renderer out there (exit portals spread like wildfire).
