NEED ARTWORK FOR BLENDER PROMOTION!

Hello there.

I have an idea to promote blender. I think its pretty cool but feel free to cut me down.

Ok, the idea of it is that artists create rooms.
The rooms have 2 or more doors. (1 for looking into and 1 for exiting).
door dimensions HAVE TO BE 1unit by 2 units! Just to keep things relatively flowing.
The rooms can have anything in them anything at all. Thats for YOU to come up with.
And remember this is to promote blender! So be imaginative!

Rules:
Doors are 1unit by 2 units.
view has to be from the door.
At least 1 other door has to be visible! So you can go to the next room.
Visible doors need to be closed and totally solid. No glass or anything similar.
"Room" has to be modeled in blender (you can use whatever renderer you wish, preferably free/open source INDIGO!)
Id like you to have some sort of reference on the image to you, like a URL watermark in the corner or something.
Render images at 800x600 (and keep defualt lense settings please, so no fisheye or anything)

Cant think of any other rules right now.

Once i have enough images to get started (lets say 10 different decent ones) Ill register a domain name (something like www.blenderrooms.com or something else if you can think of something better.)

So when you go to the domain you get a random image, you click the image and then you get a different room etc etc etc.

Hope you guys like the idea!

Get blending!

P.S. My art is nowhere good enough so that where i need YOU GUYS! Im an ideas man.

Ok. I made a template.

http://www.cyphertxt.com/files/blenderr ... late.blend

ViewDoor is the door the room is viewed from. (leave the camera where it is please)
You can use either Door1 or Door2 as your door in your "room".

The door has to be no larger or smaller than the door frames provided. But the door can look like you want it to look. Like I said, no glass and completely solid so you cant see through the door.

This sounds like a great idea. The link to the template doesn't work.

I thought the doors were supposed to be 1x2 units! So, Door 1 is the "way in" to my room, and door 2 would be the exit? And the view door is completely out of view completely? Is that right?

The view door is your door into your room. The Door1 or Door2 is the exit door.

lol. 2 by 4 is 1by2 to me. My maths kicking in... Simplifying. lol.

Ah, you mean 1:2 proportionally. So, if I choose to use door 2, my room will be twice as long and I can delete door 1? Just making sure I'm doing this right! lol

And if I make door frames, they have to be made on the outside of the door you provide so as not to make the doorway any smaller?

Yes. lol. Thats right. On both counts.

...so the doors have to have an opening of 1*2 BU (not 2*4)... ok...

btw, a 2*4 door isn't twice as big as a 1*2 door. it's 4x bigger^^
( 1 * 2 = 2 | 2 * 4 = 8 | 8 / 2 = 4 )

lol. I know. Im good with my maths. A little too good at times. I was trying to simplify it like a fraction lol. so i was thinking 2/4 = 1/2 for some reason. The frames in the template file are 2by4 BU. Use the template file and it'll make things easier. k?

*slaps self for confusing people*

Here's what I put together yesterday. Nothing incredible. I need an idea.

Well, I just wanted to let you know, I downloaded the template, I built a room using Door 1. I regret it. I should have used door 2.

I'm wondering why we have a door to look through when the door we're looking through is out of camera.

Here's what I put together yesterday. Nothing incredible. I need an idea. For those who notice, the yellowish cast is intentional ;) honest.

I recognise the splat on the wall are the eye balls in there too?

Yeah, the eyeballs are there. And the ceiling is a bump map. We have bumpy paper on our ceiling. I'm going to make a custom bump map resembling my real ceiling.
