You have opinions on Terragen4. It seems difficult in learning and despite the quality of the interface no pictures.
It 'a good choice?

Sometime in the 90s or early 2000s, I was nearly contracted to code a global illumination engine for Terragen... one of my bigger regrets, not sealing that deal!

Nothing but respect for Matt Fairclough and his creation, Terragen is awesome :D

I believe that the interface is to be redrawn, it is horrible!

Sometimes I'm surprised by how coincidences are coming together.
Just in these days I was looking too for a terrain generation and population engine.
Was attracted from Terragen both for his stunning results and the fact it's free for Edu projects.
But my really personal needs and skills decided elsewhere: TG4 it's CPU bound so a big minus for me, also his UI appear to be really outdated and with a steep learning curve, finally it's not really useful for realtime applications, and that's my current focus.
I suppose from a DCC oriented usage World Machine can be an effective alternative.
From my side I'm considering TerrainComposer, Gaia or World Creator.

lycium life has its own way steering you to the place & time you need to be whether you like it or not....so don't regret anything. Plus now you have us requesting tons of stuff day in day out for GPU features. Not a bad deal.

/ PS: My personal opinion is that Indigo will be far bigger than expected. â–˛/

So right.
If more people would no about Indigo and it's active development (not talking about most exporters :? ), it would be a great competitor. Really one of the best engines available.
So good to have you on board, lycium!
