Hi

What's New in the crowded world of the rendering engine: "Autodesk announces its acquisition of Solid Angle, the makers of the Arnold Renderer, at NAB 2016 this week."

The Arnold renderer has risen quickly within the 3D market and is an advanced Monte Carlo ray tracer built for feature length animation and visual effects. It is technically a global illumination renderer. Sony Pictures was its original co-developer and the software is its main renderer........

The news goes back to April 21 but only now I have full knowledge.

Rather it would have to make a reflection on the amount of render engine available (25?). History shows that in the future will remain a handful of products and others can expect acquired.
For example Softimage 3D historical software overlapping Maya will no longer be updated.
