GPU support (cuda & opencl), on the fly scene editor (with full camera setup and instance object position, rotation and scale)
...when?

I've been asking myself the same question, as it's been awfully quiet around here for quite some time. That said, they're probably not sitting around with their thumbs up their *sses.

hello all,
I was just discussing this in
http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... =9&t=10691
forum.
The issue I have is that all new software 3ds max 2012 and the new blender do not have exporters that work. I dont care if the new version of indigo is out or not but you still need to have the exporters work for new software. I can understand if an exporter does not come out that day but to not even give a timeline. I am stuck in limbo at the company i work for because they love indigo but that means I can use new software. I dont think its good support to where i can go upgrade my 3d package and then my rendering engine exporter does not work. And all the responce you get is the exporter has to wait for the new version of Indigo which is happening "soon". Its hard for me to go to my boss and him understand "soon". Like i said befor this is not complaining this is just a concern from the very commercial side.

You should probably keep max 2011 installed on all the computers for a while yet. Wait for a few service packs before jumping on an upgrade, specially with a new version of Max.
Sure, it has a fancy viewport but other than a few extra pieces of eyecandy, it's not a lot more useful. Too bad backwards compatibility has always sucked with max, you would have it a bit easier.

yeah the only issue is that we are looking at buying max for the first time so its not even an option to use the older version of max.

I tend to agree with kdarius that "soon" is not an acceptable answer.
I have worked in a variety of companies before and during college and over 20 years after that. I do not remember that when I was asked by the people that I had to report to "soon" was ever acceptable nor did I accept it from the people that reported to me.

As long as you're coding like crazy it's ok, but your marketing department should do something during a long period without update like this, to "keep the costumers happy".
