Okay so I got Indigo a few days ago. Been working smooth up till now.

I start the program and I get this (see attached).

Everyone's favorite entry point error.

I un installed everything I installed between the time of it working and the time of it not. I've copied the dll into the system32 folder.

Still all I get is this blasted message and that annoying Windowz sound.

Is there some sort of installer for Indigo rather than the zip. If there is, that might be part of the problem.

I'm tempted to reformat my hard drive, install Ubuntu and go on my marry way.

but oh god the pr0n. what will i do without the pr0n?

jk.... i think.....

In all seriousness, are there any known remedies for this problem, other than nuking windowz.

Oh, wait, where are my manner?

Im man_o_man どうぞよろしく

Okay this is odd.

I just left my computer on all night.

I didn't change anything.

It works now.

After three strait hours of trying to figure out what was wrong, I leave my computer on and do nothing, and it just goes away....

How strange the MSVCP90.DLL :|

I would do a virus scan right away, man_o_man

AVG has a free version that I recommend for home users.

So does avast. If you like talking anti-viruses

On anti-virus talk: go Avira, avast let a rootkit come and infect my comp while avira would have blocked it. Avast didn't say a "hug", it was 100% bluffed here, happily living beside the infection without even noticing. That's ground truth.

Get files from the editor, not from a general download site:

http://www.avira.com/en/download/index.html and click "Avira AntiVir Personal - Free Antivirus"

Avira has more than 20 years of experience in the field, you make the decision however.

i'm not out to debate the merits of any particular AV program. Just pick one (or two). :)

TBH 2 anti-virus = blatantly bad idea

lol

I'm quite happy with AVG, 'till now ;)

That's the problem kram: an anti-virus not warning for infections is really a peacefull thing ^^

well I'm not willing to debate on this too, I won't give a second chance to Avast, that is. Rootkits are tricky anyway, but the dropper would have been blocked I believe if I had Avira installed instead.

Now man_o_man that was maybe just a temporal issue, would be hardly explainable tho... try to detect an eventual infection, as zsouthboy suggested, just in case :)

Oh I completely agree - i don't run one on any of my boxes, but I know WTF i'm doing.

But I do recommend that "normal" people run one judiciously.

I have heered that you should use only one anti-viris at a time

Yes, using two can cause problems.

Not really.

If one finds a virus then moves it to its quarantine, the other virus scanner might complain when it finds it there.

And they'll fight it out, amongst themselves.
