It would be nice if you could fix Indigo so that it works with spherical HDRIs, sometimes it's a pain to have to convert all of them to lat/long format.

Or use hdrshop : panoramic transformations -> latlong to spherical

You mean the other way round?
I only have spherical hdrs.
Whats the best way for me?
- convert them to lat long and save them as exr?

Changing a lat/long probe to spherical won't make Indigo use the spherical mapping.

@Vienna: Yes, right now you have to convert spherical to lat/long in HDRshop and convert to EXR.

spherical .float files seem to work for me.

set the camera angle to 180 degress and render a shot of the sky hemisphere - then you know if it is mapped the right way.

I did a first test with a chrome ball. It is mapped the right way :D

I guess, latLong is better than spherical...
Though, the less distortion due to changing the map mode, the better as the quality will decrease with each conversion...

I say we ought to use each map the way god intended them to be used...
