[REQ] Save buffer when halt limit is reached

If you want to compute a single image for a long time its ok like that, but in some cases you want the image to be calculated up to the halt point, not only the log, got me ?

Indigo can save the image when it is manually exited (IIRC... or not ?) but not when an halt limit is reached, it's a non-sense. I already did a similar request but definitly at a certain point you want the image cooked not Indigo killed

Thx Ono !

It does seem silly to save (and tonemap) the image every n seconds with a halt time.

well sometimes there are crashes and whatnot, specially if you are using a test build (e.g. .9t4 )

I think the image and tonemap should be saved, like, every time a quarter of the halt samples have been reached(e.g when you ask for 100 mut/pixels, then every 25 it gets saved)

just my $0.02

I agree with CTZn.

If lightning kills your UPS after numerous hours of rendertime, you are back to square one.

Can we agree that this is a problem with... ALL tasks that take a non-trivial amount of time?

Yes, this is very reasonable, will add to TODO list.

I second that. The buffer must be saved by reaching halt time or halt samples per pixel.
