Hey Ono can you put in some cool DOF effects like this and maybe some others (Unless Indigo can already do this and I just haven't played with DOF enough). Plain blur isn't very groovy :P

This is what indigo DOF is already... I'm pretty sure.

Really? I've never seen a render like that though, or with thoser hexagon thingies either? How do I do it?

Bokeh that is not perfect gaussian circles is caused by imperfections :)

A 6 bladed aperture diaphram = hexagon bokeh. (of out of focus points of light)

I'd kill for indigo bokeh in real life: smooth, perfectly transitioned airy discs.

Oh ok. But I reckon you should be able to set the thingy to imperfect because sometimes it looks really good with lots of lights in the background.

there are better examples but look at this:

(not as noticeable and strong as in your pic but you can see that it works)

I know Indigo has DOF but I mean cool imperfect DOF like this with the hexagons.

That remembers me a discussion I was reading years ago... one guy was saying the same: CG artists are all after ngons bokeh and photographers are after soft blur :)

yes, you are right.. for us (photographers :) ) are better nice circles (smallest f-stop) than not so nice hexagons or, or something..
i am really happy with indigo as is :D
