Hey Ono...

It seems there is (still) a Bug with the null material in 0.8 stable.
I use a null material blended diffuse material (no bump) Hybrid + BiDir + MTL!

(540 mutations per pixel)

for everybody who can't see this, I raised the contrast in PS.

Here is the Scene File:

***EDIT***
I let the rendering stay over night, maybe this artifact is gone then...
I tried the same scene used diffuse transmiiter at 1000 Muts per pixel,
but no artifacts are visible...

Ok, bug noted, thx.
Nice test scene :)
You should try doing a blend between phong and diffuse transmitter for the leaves (all blended with a null mat). I think it would look nice.

A just rendered the Image for over night for 2200 mutations per Pixel, the bug is still visible...

But by exident I found the following strange shadow issue :?:

actually the idea was to do a blend, but using phong for some glossy reflections of the Ivy,
but I just tried diffuse_transmitter only to check the effect first, before blending... but this was the result :?

BTW Ono, if you like the scene, so just keep it

are you also using 0.8, scyguo?

yes, official stable 0.8 - winxp64pro, latest blendigo mod from Bigfan and blender244

In 0.8 test3 there is another problem with nools alpha - object with blend nool behind another blend nool was invisible. In new official 0.8 this is solved - there is only that strange nools alpha or maybe something else. In my case it's not big problem - five minutes in pshop and done :)

Hmmm...

I guess, maybe, it could help, to try different modes:

Try to deactivate Hybrid, I.e....
Maybe, that works.

I hope, Ono finds a solution, soon^^

Yeah, you can probably work around the bug by turning bi-dir off

:) thanks!
It's working - renders are clear with bdir off - needs more time but it is no difference between nools alpha and background
thanks again!
