Indigo Renderer Forum

I'm not sure that it has to do with indigo, but after I read from other people in this forum that they had crashed too, I think it really has to do with indigo:

When I'm not at home and rendering a scene then about 5 times out of 10 my computer is frozen and unable to revive without a restart. Looking at the time of the last render it was in that state about 3-4 hours after I started the render. Next time this occurs I will try to render the exact same scene again and then see if it happens again.
However, if I'm not mistaken then indigo shots the rays randomly, so even the same scene might not come to the same state again.

If anybody else has encountered this problem, pls respond, so it can be determined, if it probably has to do with indigo.

Btw: using indigo 0.7t5 in 2 thread mode on AMD X2 4200+... and one scene this happened to os the scene from the "milk (again)" thread in the wip section...

Sounds like a stability problem not related to indigo - you might have a bad memory stick, or inadequate cooling.

If indigo (or ANY program) crashes and brings down your whole computer - it's a symptom, not the problem. You have a stability problem regardless.

Most probably. Get a heat monitor for your system. Generally speaking, above 60°C/140°F some systems may become unstable, although some processors can bear with 100°C (but most motherboards can't. Not all processors can bear with temp higher than 70°C/160°F).

Personally I have such a monitor, and when the air temp is above 15°C I can't let my bi-proc running at full throttle without endangering the whole system. Winter is over here in Paris
