Wouldn't mind stayin in that hotel. Im loving the sofa, just looks so cool lol.

Here my 2 cent:

your carpet texture doesn't tile, this could be fixed.
Also your lamps are looking strange to me, just like solid blocks :?

to do lampshades simply use a single sided shade mesh with a diffuse transmitter material,
and in the empty middle a light source... done!

here an example of my current project:

Using different materials for the wood of the door and the bed would be also a good idea (the one used is way to saturated red), the metal of the lamp and the bed would be much nicer if used cr.nk instead of some gold one ;-)
Here also use different settings for exponent!

You're absolutely right, I'm having always problems with blended materials, and that was my first scene where I used theme, now it looks crap to me, but then... it was beauty for me :).
