Here is a simple work done by me.

I used about 10-20 minutes on modeling this ashtray in blender. I rendered it overnight and a work day for a total of 16 hours.

nice caustics :)
I think, this one would greatly benefit by either an exr-map or some nice schott-glass
or both :)
Though, it might not be that clear by the same time....

more light would cause nicer caustics and a nice cigarette would pimp the picture.

but great work

I like it a lot. Only thing I would change is the scale of the Cigarette. Needs to be bigger. at least 150 percent of what it is now.

regarding Schott glasses, I'm sure each one has a purpose, and that can be found on their website.

http://www.schott.com/

There's also a catalogue somewhere with details on each one (WytRaven included it in his library package).

Why not just unroll a real cigarette, paste the the cigarette paper onto a white sheet of printer/copier paper to flatten it out, and then scan it in? UV map it - Presto! Instant cigarette texture.

Well I got a cigarette texture from another place.. But I aint got any scanner. And what i smoke is rolling tobacco. So no filter cigarettes here. But it would be a good idea if I had the means... Then I wouls choose a norwegian brand of cigarettes such as: Blue master maybe...
