No more motivation to work on this so I guess it's final. 2 other lightings are to come.

nice, but please don't add the chromatic aberration in your other two versions or make it far weaker :)

Very nice.
I'm not a big fan of chromatic aberration either. I just can't see the point of mimicking a weakness of bad cameras equipped with bad lenses.

Got to say I think this is the first time I've seen subsequent renders of the same scene get worse each time :(

Maybe time to let this one die and move on...it's a pity because there are (were) some really great elements in this scene which seem to have gotten lost somewhere along the way. It happens sometimes unfortunately.

Wyt, saying that it's time to move on is not encouraging..
Sometimes it happens that the more you look at your render, the less you see some 'disturbing' elements or strange-oversaturated colour balancing, like in this case..

Hope you don't mind, Behrendt, but i was asking myself why i didn't like this scene, and did a quick level correction.. How do you find it?

Looking forward to see the other renders!!

Ciao!!!

@Marcofly: Yeah I know :oops:

I should just keep my mouth shut sometimes. What gets me though is that so many parts of this scene are great. For instance the tiled roof/guttering/down-pipe excellent, the grass excellent, the molding around the window frames excellent, the chairs/stools excellent...and yet for some reason when all put together something just goes wrong. Your level adjustments certainly helped but there is something fundamentally wrong with this scene that I just can't put my finger on. (I have an inkling that it may be that all these parts are fighting each other rather than helping each other or that maybe the detail in some areas is contrasting with the obvious lack of detail in others...)

I wasn't meaning to be mean by my comment was simply trying to say that this particular scene should be laid to rest so that Behrendt can get on with doing something else as the guy obviously has talent. :)

ok some intended to be helpful ideas from me after the raven attack.. :D
I think there are 2 issues here that detract slightly -
1. the colours of the 'yellow' brick wall and paving, the blue pool, green grass and inside 'red' wall and yellowish floor dont combine esp well
so consider replacing the brick and paving with rustic red-brown tones and make the dining floor say teak - see how the back of the chair is pinkish not good with yellow tones
perhaps the pool not so dark
2. the dimensions of the dining table frame are not quite deep enough to be realistic -possibly could it be slightly more shiny as well if it is lacquer

anyway good work - on to the next 8)

I think it looks pretty good. Certainly better than I could put together, but then I don't do architectural work or interior design...

One thing that bugs me if the white areas on the far windows - are these blinds? It looks a little unfinished.

No you shouldn't :!:

And thanx for the crits guys. I will definetly move on, but currently I don't know if this will be something in Indigo as I want to make something different than Interior this time. But unfortunately I got no idea what I'm going to do

So guys. I recognized that i accedentily changed the tonemapping values and so the first picture was overbright. So i changed it and added a flashlight version. See first post. ;)

one thing bugs me, though:
wouldn't a flash make the glass a nearly perfect mirror?
You can't see much through the glass, but still much enough...
On the boards' doors in the background, it's clearly visible...

Hum, might be the angle....

It's amazing how much lighting can effect the 'realism' of an image. It's hard to believe that the flash image is using the same geometry+textures as it just look so much more real :)

on-camera flash still sucks as far as lighting goes.
