hi ti all!
when I try to render a tree image, I see a strange black shadow inside the foliage, so I try to render a test image with simple plane and the result is the same...
if I don't use gpu render the result is correct .....but it's so sloooooow :)
what is the solution?
thanks

hi, there is "max path depth" in indigo. If you set more, the result will be better. Try set about 20 or more.

Indeed, the thing is this kind of texturing where there's tons of leafs behind each other slows down massively, since you have to trade up for path depth. You'd be better if you could get straight geometry. I've tried a solution where I build the geometry out of alpha channel and then I explode the faces where it is applied into instances.

:/ no solution yet, high numbers on max depth don't solve completely... and over 40 gpu is slow like cpu (with low "max depth")
I've to make do without it
I'll get over it

rather use geometry for twigs & leaves instead of opacity, it's lighter and also much faster to render
at first, it may seem more work, but in the end it all pays off, especially in a case like yours or with grasslands

 is a nightmare..

with the help of inkscape trace bitmaps and dxf export

the difficult is to change the old geometry with the new one :?
