Fire Shader Possible?

Hello, I'm pretty experienced with Indigo, at least until it comes to ISL, because at that point I have no idea what I'm doing in any way, shape or form. With that being said, does anybody know if a flame shader is possible? Not in terms of the actual shape, but the color gradients that would show in real fire; (i.e. white to yellow to orange) And if it exists, where could I find it?

possible... maybe, but afaik nobody did such a shader and actually showed it ahere in the forum...

May I ask why do you need some artificial fire over some fire Photos/Videos?
Using captured images from the real world usually ends up with a more realistic result ;)

Here a recent thread with a great tutorial how to setup such a fire material (using a photo): http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... 19&t=13371

Mainly Because I"d really prefer to have something volumetric, and that I can apply to complex shapes, like organic creature meshes

So you are referring more to some volumetric fire/smoke simulation rather the a simple shader?
Actually there were some "experiments" that maybe related to that in the past here & here, but nothing more is known...

Some ISL noise based shader could be possible too maybe, but I have no idea if there is a way to control emittance in a way that color changes in the flame look realistic in a way (or even work at all)...

emitting volumes are not implemented yet, but I suppose that decent results could be achieved then. I'm delaying studies on the matter but am interested in participating eventually.

I use a blend mat, with a mask and a flame picture.

It work pretty well if you use the correct emitter values an check the aperture difraction checkbox.

And I think that we can use something with face mapped planes and an instatiation of PFlow-ed something....
