The basic problem is that the scene file state has changed in the time between the first and second renders, e.g. the camera viewpoint has changed etc... There are a few reasons why this could happen.

then after resuming the png got saved as im## into a folder I hadn't used in months. Both igi and igs were stored into the same folder.
