Hi i'm kinda new to this program just bought it and its been giving me such a headake.
basicaly i've been trying to render with EP (better interior quality in less time)
and exit portals dont emit any light, they just show as a black surface or they dont show at all. i already reverse the face.
i'm not sure if is maybe anything to do with the skindigo enviroment settings or not.
since i had a heavy model i droped it and went to a new sketchup and started from scratch
figured then i could bring that into my model but now is even crazier.
the room i draw doesnt show at all and the EP are always black.
please any help will be apreciate it, im ready to drop it and go back to my old photoshop renders..

Can you share your model?

Basically, EP don't emit light, they let light in the scene and increase the speed because they don't let the light out of the closed volume so it has not to be calculated...

I've attached an example with working Exit portals, you can compare the settings with yours...

I checked my seetings and they are the same as yours.
well i notes you have disable the EP check on the mesh settings. how did you get your EP then?
i render again and i still get black.
i'm attaching my model here

I guess i can just bring my model to yours and use your EPs. but i still want to understand why mines are not working.

Three notes:
- You activated the exit portal checkbox for the walls and the sourrounding but not for the windows
- You should use a single face for the window glass as exit portal (?)
- The volume have to be closed for using exit portals (every opening), but your door is not closed
