I haven't posted anything for a while - busy bringing together everything I've learnt so far...


Well, I know it's not perfect at all, and to be honest the only things I'm quite happy with are the plates and the fabric's texture on the chairs' seats


Please comment, I need feedback!

The overall image is nice, but it really cries for enhancements: don't get bored with this!!!!

First thing, could you post a smaller jpeg image next time? This way the load on the forum and site will be a little released.
Some critics on the image: I feel it pinky! Try changing the white point to D65 and you will notice some less saturated greyscale-oriented tones, which usually work better in my opinion.
I agree with you about the ceramic of the dishes, it's great. But you absolutely have to work on the FLOOR (which I consider among the most important things when doing interiors), on the wood of the chairs and the picture frame on the left (I can't even see a glass).

One last thing: the scene seems a little overscaled: I mean, it's a very wide space, filled with only few things. Either add more stuff or scale down the spaces!

I expect you to work on this Madcoo: could be a really interesting image!

I agree with Pibuz, that changing the white balance to something more neutral makes it look better.
I did some quick color adjusting just to illustrate the idea. I hope you don't mind madcoo ?

The reason why the overall colouring was pinkish or yellowish, was because I wanted to give it a "dusk" feel.
Obviously, next time I try to get that kind of result I'll just play with the sun's horizontal direction.

Also, the smaller image helps me a lot to have a more straight idea of the feeling of the whole image: cursors really freak me out...

Changed the picture's size!!!

I'm prefering the former color balance, to differ. Feels natural to me with the sun set...

I think it's the wall depth wich is biasing the perception of scale, make it thinner perhaps, or further ?

I agree that the porcelain looks great, nice scene !
