Still working on this one. I wanted to fit it into the promo contest also but time cheated on me
http://www.indigorenderer.com/gallery/m ... alNumber=1
a) I think I have to warp the floor a bit, the edges are to sharp specially where it meet's the founatin wall.
b) The Shader on left is to flat, maybe something curved to make contra visual balance with waterfall...
c) Pots look weird, and must be textured.
d) Maybe texture walls, at least with bumpmap???
e) Will probably do a night scene with extra lights inside water to see what nice effect I achieve...
I am totally open to critiques....

This is awesome Joe, look forward to seeing the final image.
I love the water and the water caustics.
A couple of ideas:
* try experimenting with a non Lambertian material for the white walls.
Most materials show some kind of specular reflection at grazing angles.
* perhaps u need some kind of gutter around the pool? otherwise the wood will get stained

Thx Nick, only problem is that those caustics (which I really like also) are from a glass material (IOR 1.5) which I accidentally assigned to the water, now I changed the IOR properly to 1.33, so I will se what result I get now, I hope most of them don't go away. I'm sure a night scene with color lighting inside fountain will look really nice.
Ok, I'll try non Lambertian material for walls, sounds good.
A gutter, hmmmmmm. Probably so, I'll see what it looks like.
Thanks.

Check out Luis Barragan's architecture style. He plays a lot with water elements as well as with light. Being also Mexican I think you won't have too much trbl finding it

Alvaro
Thx afecelis, yes, I know Luis Barragan's work, I like it very much (mybe not the bright colors he uses) but I have always liked his compositions.

Blender, totally new to it, but very happy with it also, I used to model in Autocad and Lightwave, but I gave them up, mostly because I am still in a strong transition from windows to linux.
Never thought it would be so easy (and fun!) to use blender.

And then using it with indigo......
WOW!!!

I love Blender, it's all I use now!
I was big into maya a few years ago, but sorta left it for other interests.
A few months ago, I saw (somewhere) a forum post or something with a link to Blender.
I checked it out, and gave it a try.
Played with a few things, then installed yafray, played with that for some time, then found indigo.
This isn't adding anything useful to the topic, I know.
Did you use the simulation in Blender to model the water?

yes, I did run the fluid sim in blender, only it has been recalculated for the final render at a little higher resolution and with a little more power, cause it looks kinda droopy on that one.
