so i was bored and made a quick scene with two different positions
making a stereoscopic image
just bored...
so if your screen is large enough or if you just view the image itself scaled down a bit you might be able to get the effect...

I have some shutterglasses from my ole' quake 3 days.. too bad Nvidia can't make stereo drivers that work for 8800gts or I'd give your picture a shot

but all you really have to do is cross your eyes so that you see three pics and then just focus on the "middle" pic

Hi DackSoldier ! That's funny, I was thinking about stereoscopic images recently, but did not any
I think you used too strong of an offset, I can't get a right volume sensation. Average space between eyees is 6 cm (1.4 inches maybe ?), were you using something like that ?

actually, for the eyes-crossing technique to work right you've got to switch the right and left image. otherwise you're seeing reverse 3d.

AFAIK, in 3D-films the offset is a rounded 10cm. It makes extreme 3D views but it still works for all...

@Dacksoldier

for years i could never ever see the 3D effect of those cross eye pictures not a single time. Your image is the first one that worked out clear sharp and 3D

Finally! Thank you.

hmm idk it seems exactly the same to me when i switch them around.. but w/e
but yeah i tried to make those 3d glasses at home but couldn't find a red marker or red plastic...

I'm talking about real 3d shutterglasses. Not Red-blue glasses. Shutterglasses work by blocking an image from each eye back and forth at a certain frequency and your brain perceives it as a true 3d image. Pretty convincing actually. Nothing like a quake 3 rocket flying at you that looks like it just whizzed by your head.

anyway, how would you color the images with red-blue/red-green glasses?

by Kram1032
huh?
Well you need to make the right glass red and the left glass cyan
and
the right image cyan and the left image red
directly overlapping each other with the same offset....

Lol
I thought it was clear when I wrote it....
YES, in postpro and JUST AS I DESCRIBED

cyan vs. red
Though there also are tools for doing it. I dunno which way was used by Arne...
