Hello everyone ! :D (breathing)

I wander along the forum's thread for a month and this is my first topic-post.

I'm computer-graphist and plan to evolve to 3d-graphist or 3d-Illustrator ... Before the end of this year if possible.

When I was 15-16, I woul'd like to make something with a story I wrote ...
It takes place on an island in a particular area of France.

A certain house was almost a character in this story.
I recently discover Indigo, which gives to me exactly the kind of rendering quality and "grain" I wanted and Searched for 6-7 years ago !

Maaaaany thanks to Ono-Sendaï !

Here are my first renders with Indigo :

I'm searching for a way to get rid of the "toy-effect" in the first view.
Maybe due to the angle and height of the camera ? (and obviously the low quality of the terrain tex btw ... :) )

Comments and crits welcome ! ^____^

Hi Maarc and welcome!
I think that linking 3d-modeling/rendering with other kinds of art, like writing/poetry, music, painting and whatever else is a great idea, always appreciated!

I think your model-like image of the mansion is pretty cool, perhaps you'll have something to do with the roof.. The interior shot is a little less interesting, as we can see a lot of the image occupied by a white wall, and the floor is something like linoleum..

I always feel something..spooky (but still interesting; just the same feeling like when i think about horror movies: i'm not brave enough to see a whole film all alone, but still i'm SO curious) when looking at empty interior spaces, like the one you've posted: is that the kind of feeling you were looking for in your writing too?

For sure ... It's a WIP after all ! ;)

I've downloaded a trial version of filterforge to create a tex of blue tiles, with both bump and displacement map in addition with the classic diffuse ...
I altern a few tex&rendering steps with modeling steps ...

Obviously, I'm in a modeling step for the moment ... :)
My goal is to achieve an hyper-reallistic touch for each render ...

Hmm, spooky is not the right word, but pretty close ! I'm very surprised that you can already feel a part of the atmosphere I want to suggest ...
Quite encouraging for me ! Many thanks ! :D

Sorry, just mysterious ... These little priceless things that hooks You to the story and makes that You absolutely want to know how it ends. ;)

I'm not a big fan of horror movies, and, as Pibuz, not brave enough to see any till the end ... :D

'Hope I'm not disappointing You ? ;)

I would say that the lighting is biggest factor in making your first render look like a toy. And as you correctly pointed out, the very primitive ground plane. If it were a real house, it would be sitting outside in direct sunlight.

It also needs more detail. Lack of minor, minute details are adding to the "Doll House" effect.

It is a very good model, better than I can currently do.
