And what have you learn from this same model in another studio setup?

Lightning isn't good.
Try use a CAM setting with 100ISO and 100exp.
And dimm the lights too till white is white and not gray.

My studio setup is not a secret. Alternately a semicircular crown emissive a toroid, sometimes one or two light area. Gemstones are particularly difficult materials. I try to do something personal; I think I'm on the right track!
All images have been processed with Photoshop.

Let me rephrase it then, from those two setups which is better and why?

Your image is ultra dark, is there any reason for that?

Hi

This it would be the same as I worked on the levels.

Another version. the background a bit 'dark wanted to accentuate the contrast between the ring and set where it is placed.

Hi

The latest versions with two light area and slightly correct levels in Photoshop.
The end result looks decent as regards the gems.

If you wanna check how much contrast one image really have you ought to turn it into black and white, as from you can see there's not much contrast between the ring and the background, either step way up or way down.

Generally when photographing a gold object with gems using a ring light and dark background as blacks fabrics, velvet and so on.
In some pictures in the gallery Indigo I saw that the backgrounds are blacks.
At this time I started the rendering background with black / graphite.
We wait for the result!

Hi

Here is the version with black / graphite. The contrast is strong too.
