SreckoM renders
I am going to put my WIP renders here, for better organization I guess.
Here is something I am working on now, as I am newbie with Indigo I have some questions.
1. any example on what is best way to deal with leafs, sss etc?
2. how do you people deal with HDR enviroment, when I switch tone mapping method to camera image become dark and I need to lower shutter and f-stop a lot and rise EV. Can I somehow scale up HDR illumination but not affect how it shows in render. Sky is burned here and not sure how to control it better.

SSS is very computationally expensive. Thus for most plants/ foliage a blend material of a phong (shiny outside surface) and a diffuse transmitter ( leaf translucency) is used.

Nethertheless,
I really would appreciate a two-sided shader as a mask in Indigo... one material for the direct light side, one for the opposite.
Diffuse transmitter doesn't really work in all situations for thin SSS fake...

Re: SreckoM renders
Yeah I was using that workflow here, phong + transmitter, but can not get nice results yet. Still digging through help though.
Re: SreckoM renders
You can render a mask for the sky (it's a camera attribute in Maya. Use PT iirc), save two exposures and merge them using the mask.
It is normal to have some amount of burning when using ISO or linear settings, like with real films; it is the Reinhard method wich can adapt itsels to an unrealistic extent.
Test different camera response files, and correct them eventually using the camera white point. By the way I'm finding even the building too exposed, try to find a compromise using the camera tonemapping settings.

I am working with C4D (my first project ever with it) on this one, unfortunately can not use Maya as plugin does not work with OSX.

In C4D you can just check the "render alpha" checkbox in the Indigo for C4D options aswell
Re: SreckoM renders
I will say that this is final.

Well done! Looks great.
Re: SreckoM renders
I'd say it's a little too magenta for my taste, but that's obviously something you got from the postpro, right?
..and the tree in the right foreground isn't too much lowpoly?
Other than that it is a great scene!

Very nice color palette and composition

Let me resurrect this thread
Here is one more image I did almost year ago. Blender and Indigo 3
