Aspect ratio issues
Aspect ratio issues
Hi,
Is anyone else having aspect ratio problems with Indigo 2.0? I am currently running 2.0.4 and the aspect ratio is always messed up unless I render 4:3. I think Indigo is stretching everything to 800x600. i thought I read that this was fixed...
Thanks.

Re: Aspect ratio issues
It's probably the free version restricting the res to 800x600. We'll set you up with a licence shortly.
Re: Aspect ratio issues
but shouldn't the free version allow lower resolutions as well instead of stretching them to 800x600? Why should every render have to be 4:3? Indigo_console allows lower resolutions and doesn't mess up the aspect ratio. I'm not sure about higher resolutions, though. Haven't tested yet.OnoSendai wrote:It's probably the free version restricting the res to 800x600. We'll set you up with a licence shortly.
Re: Aspect ratio issues
I share the same opinion (like I already mentioned in another thread). Demo or not, but I think it should still respect the aspect ratio.
Re: Aspect ratio issues
Hi Guys,
The 2.0.4 Can definitely render scenes that don't have a 1.33 aspect ratio. I just tried on a scene with a 1:1 aspect ratio and it works fine.
Do you mean that when you select another resolution from the 'Presets' combo box on the 'Renderer Settings' page, the aspect ratio of the render changes?
That is a problem indeed.

Re: Aspect ratio issues
I think the problem is the GUI size 'over rides' the size in the IGS file making the image look stretched.
Re: Aspect ratio issues
Hey Ono,
Ok, now i get it. remusk is right. UI overwrites the igs values. You have to manually insert the correct resolution. It doesn't read the dimensions from igs. That is VERY annoying
You would have to set the resolution twice - once in your modeling app and then again inside Indigo. Could you please make it to read the image resolution from the <renderer_settings> of the opened scene file? Just like it has always been?

Re: Aspect ratio issues
Just a note on a related subject...I note that the GUI also ignores the tonemapping info from the .igs. I have to set to dcs315 camera and exposure every time I render, despite setting this up in blendigo when exporting.
Really all settings should be set to what ever is in the .igs which you can then tweak via the GUI later if need be.

Re: Aspect ratio issues
the display period is over-ridden as well. I hope all of these settings loading issues will be sorted out in the next beta.WytRaven wrote: Really all settings should be set to what ever is in the .igs which you can then tweak via the GUI later if need be.
