Are more materials in production?

Post by neo0. » Wed Apr 29, 2009 8:18 am

OPne of the things that rendeers like Maxwell have on Indigo is the amount of materials they have to choose from..
It would be nice to see more available in the DB..
Plastic (transparent)

http://mxmgallery.maxwellrender.com/ran ... de=0&id=57

http://mxmgallery.maxwellrender.com/our ... hp?id=4111
http://mxmgallery.maxwellrender.com/our ... hp?id=4100 (more ornate stone or wood materials would be great)

http://mxmgallery.maxwellrender.com/hig ... e=0&id=199
http://mxmgallery.maxwellrender.com/hig ... =16&id=355

And the list just goes on an on.. You can browse Maxwell's materials by going here

We dont have a materials editor is the biggest problem with this. We're working on one that'll integrate with the materials database.

Neo0, those Maxwell materials are all made by members of Maxwell community. I don't think Nick or Ben should start wasting their valuable time for making up all kinds of possible materials.
So instead of constant requesting you could start helping out and make some mats by yourself.

I don't think neo was asking that nick or I make more textures. Materials are clearly user generated.

Wow, that sounds awesome. Any plans for automatic material previewing too?

I wonder what he meant with "Are more materials in production?" then? Who is the audience he is turning to?
Neo0?
