Skindigo os x!

Post by benn » Wed Feb 18, 2009 2:29 pm

Okay,

So I've got skindigo going and rendering using indigo os x. It's not seamless yet (by any means), but I do have an installer underway, and once I've talked to Whaaat I'll look at getting skindigo all pimped out and ready for use on os x.

Bugs:

* Doesnt load indigo directly yet
* All the html interface dont work (material editing etc)
* Skindigo 1.0.8 gives me broken uv_sets (or else i'm doing something wrong) in the scene file that I have to edit out by hand

Screenshot attached of some model I found from the warehouse.

getting the HTML interface to work on OSX may be extremely difficult. I think there are still bugs with the Mac implementation of SketchUp webdialogs, but I believe we can get it working.

why don't you use SkIndigo 1.1.16 (latest version posted in the forums)?

The reason you are getting uv set error messages could be because you haven't applied the materials directly to the Faces. Don't apply textures to Groups or Components. I don't think SkIndigo exports UVs unless the textures are applied to the faces.

I'm hoping to buy a Mac soon so I can help get SkIndigo OSX working. I know there is a lot that needs to be fixed and I think the only way it will work properly is if I get a Mac. I'm just struggling whether to buy a new or used Mac. I don't exactly have $2000 burning a hole in my pocket right now.
