Hi all,

I haven't tested Indigo with Cinema 4d yet, but I'm keen to get around to it. If people want to post issues with cinema 4d in this thread - we can keep them in one place and try and make Cindigo super easy for new users.

btw: cindigo works perfectly with the demo versions of c4d.

Tested with r10.5 and r11
Both works but the first time i've not wrote the extension .igs, a window appeared saying "Invalid(Unknow) file format", but it saved the file without problem.
Now with or without extension work in the same way with no errors windows.
Another small thing is the about window, after opened is impossible to reclose and also impossible to access to Cinema.
A forced quit is necessary.

I use cindigo with r9.6 and all works fine. I wish the next cindigo version is still compatible with r9.6 .

I've tried the Indigo 0.1 beta with Cindigo 1.1.14

I'm new to both, so i don't know if i did all correctly, here my steps:

Opened a scene in cinema 4d r11.
-Placed the "Indigo Render Settings" object from the plugin menu.
-Placed the "Convert Meterials" object from the plugin menu.
-Clicked on "Export to Indigo IGS"
-Saved the .igs file
-Opened Indigo Standalone
-Opened the exported file in Indigo:

"Invalid .igs file"
"No <scene/> element found."

Automaticly after press ok on that window appears this one:

"XML parsing error: 'not well-formed (invalid token)' at line 3"

I will search over the forum if i did something wrong but if you come with some advices it will be appreciated!

Thanks!
:wink:

Here it is:

Code: Select all

<!--Generated by Cindigo 1.1.14-->
<!--Using TinyXml-->
<!--Developed by: Yves CollÈ aka 'fused'-->
<scene>
    <renderer_settings>
        <render_foreground_alpha>false</render_foreground_alpha>
        <metropolis>true</metropolis>
        <halt_time>-1</halt_time>
        <halt_samples_per_pixel>-1</halt_samples_per_pixel>
        <bidirectional>true</bidirectional>
        <hybrid>false</hybrid>
        <logging>true</logging>
        <display_period>60</display_period>

        <save_untonemapped_exr>false</save_untonemapped_exr>

        <save_igi>true</save_igi>
        <auto_choose_num_threads>true</auto_choose_num_threads>
        <cache_trees>true</cache_trees>
        <polarisation>false</polarisation>
    </renderer_settings>
    <background>
        <spectrum>
            <rgb>
                <rgb>1 1 1</rgb>
                <gamma>2.2</gamma>
            </rgb>
        </spectrum>
    </background>

After background starts the objects like camera etc...

Nice one!
Now it load!

But, surely around my model this time, another problem come up:

*************
Problem found in scene file

There is a problem with the scene you are rendering and we are unable to continue.

The problem is:

SceneLoaderExcep: Failed to load texture '/Applications/Indigo/User Scenes/' (In element 'texture', around line 99, column7): ImFormatExcep: unhandled format ('/Applications/Indigo/User Scenes/'

*************

I'm thinking that i have to place the textures with the .igs file in the same folder, don't know if it so...will search over the manual about textures..

I've deleted all the materials from the objects, exported and now works.
Thank you for the support fused.
Hope in a Cindigo 1.1.14 without È !!

cindigo should write out relative if possible (aka always on a mac).

i dont know how indigo for mac handles that, but it never was a problem for indigo via darwine or on windows.

about my name... ill see what i can do to get it changed ;) :) :P
