Please finish up exporters for Indigo 1.1 Stable

Post by OnoSendai » Mon Jan 12, 2009 6:19 pm

Hi exporter writers,
I hope to release Indigo 1.1 Stable soon.
No new features will be added until 1.1 stable is released, but there will be one or more bug-fix releases.

I'm setting a target date for the end of January for the release of Indigo 1.1 stable.

So please try and have your 1.1 compatible exporters ready by then.

Thanks,
Nick

Great Ono!

may we also expect to see an updated SDK?

Thanks in advance, R.

This concern of an up to date exporter is mine for a moment now, but if I remain alone working on MtI I don't see this possible within the month.

Due to my coding level, I would be much more efficient as a side coder, working on ergonomy and helper tools.

Though, MtI is certainly getting better already, since I learned from my (many) previous mistakes.

I'm keeping the deadline in mind, retargeting coding efforts !

cindgo is already 100% compatible, not sure if all new features make it into the end-of-january-release.

oh crap. just saw this thread for the first time.....I will try to have something ready in early February. If it is not ready when you release 1.1, just say it's coming soon...

@fused: it would be fine if the materiaol import works when the 1.1 stable is released :)

note from CTZn: Onfame, as a user please privilegiate the exporter forums and private messaging to posting in the development section, wich is your third choice. Anything else is just a bad example to all, thank you for your understanding.

Great, thanks Whaat.
I won't be releasing 1.1 stable for at least another week (going on a trip).

Since February has now come and gone, is it possible to get a new target date for Indigo 1.1 stable? It helps to know when it might be released. Ideally, I would like to have my updated SkIndigo tutorials ready before release. There's also another SkIndigo feature that I'm working on (nice to have but not critical)

Jan, Feb, March... :P

this is ono time remember - very slow
possibly he is also waiting for smartden to do something for Blender people who used to be about half of the users - not too many people have had an opportunity to try it let alone report issues

Removing bugs always takes longer than one thinks :)

Indigo 1.1 stable itself is more or less ready to go.
I was kind of hoping that we would see material importing in plugins, but maybe that can wait.

I suppose some developers would apreciate such hints on develoment priority, I mean better state it than hope for it :) I don't see any potential harm in having guides or markers at one's disposal... I would not mind, really :D

Now it may matters only for the less effective of the developers  Importing material didn't sound like a priority to me, or I forgot about it after some earlier tries. Not that the rest is top notch, but it's noted now.

Sounds like a plan :)
