[MtI] Moving code off my server

Hi,
With the events of the last week (server downtime), and the fact that I don't really contribute anything to indigo anymore, I'm considering discontinuing hosting SVN for MtI and Violet on my server.

I think really Ono ought to set up central SVN again so that he maintains the servers used by the developers in this community.

As and when there is a new SVN server available, I will provide full repository dumps for MtI and Violet (and jViolet, though it never really took off) so that full development history is maintained.

After the changeover, any devs that are currently using my server will need to get familiar with the svn switch --relocate command for their working copies.

Thanks,
Doug.

I may host an svn server for violet and MtI if it doesn't take too much space on my server, barely got 200MB left...
Let me know if you want one @ the devs

The complete disk usage of the MtI repository is 8.4M.
violet and jviolet are 11M and 4.1M.

Well then I can host it, of course ;)

Hi Dougal, sorry I missed your thread :?:

Well PureSpider, if you don't mind... I'm renting some space but I don't know if they'd allow me to install the SVN server...

Sure, some bug tracking tools and such are a modest luxury for developers *sigh*.

Well before I call myself a developer, and in the name of MtI users (huh wich ?) I must thank you dougal2, for your prolongated support well after you moved from MtI's development. I was about to contact you on the distro hosting issue, but events are always faster than me.

Best regards !

Thanks PureSpider, but look I'm the one that should retrieve the files I bet.

So please send the files to me Dougal, if they were not transfered already. Actually I don't know if I can access them myself, if not maybe you can pack them in the distro folder and tell me, I would get the archive from there then.

Anyhow, just tell me :)

Cheers !

If you are going to run the server I will send them back to you. I mean, I feel involved, shouldn't I ?

CTZn:
You don't need to send or do anything with your files just yet. The only thing that's going to happen from your point of view is that the SVN URL will change.

You will be able to update your local copy when you know the new URL with an SVN command:

Code: Select all

$ cd mti_working_copy
$ svn switch --relocate https://svn.hamsterfight.co.uk/svn-mti http://....new url.../mti .

I packed up the SVN repos and sent PureSpider a link to download and install on his server... I've not heard anything since.

Okay two days ago he was asking me if you had send anything, I think the connection was not made :)

Let's try that again, also please send it to me with a deadline (1week?) in case PureSpider misses it.

Cheers

I sent it via PM - and it's still in my Outbox, meaning he hasn't read it.

CHECK YOUR PM PURESPIDER ;)
