Im sure most of you are familiar with the photoshop effect right? Is it possible to get a similar effect in violet?

Or aperture diffraction in Indigo... not sure what this edge glow is, what category of filters ? I've found "Glowing Edges" but what's the point finally (for the remaining NOT familiar with your thoughts) ?

In photoshop, you can do an edge glow effect many ways.

Duplicate the image, set the mode to Screen, and do a gaussian blur of 10 or 20 px. Adjust layer transparency (and masking) to taste.

That also works the same way in GIMP.

Of course - I've used both a ton and don't mean to endorse one over the other :)

He said "photoshop" and sounded like he was looking for a Filter (it seems "normal" people think this stuff is automatic, eh? :D), so I gave the appropriate response (in this case the exact same steps can be used in GIMP)
