I'll add some kind of changelog, and add your name to the credits sometime soon, Dougal.

Man ... the glare feature is wonderful ono!!!

Here are some suggestion for violet:
- a scroll bar (if you haven't set the screen resolution high enough some options are clipped)
- better use of space (those buttons and sliders use much more space then they actually need)
- icon for violet :)
- shouldn't the word "violet" be included into the window title?
- change order (tonemapping first, then whitepoint - bloom - glare - chr. abb.)
- include IGIMerge
- keep up the good work guys!

I'm still fiddling a bit with the GUI layout - that stuff is easy. although the space below the chrom.abberation slider is a bit of a mystery :S

As for including IGIMerge, I'd have to start really trying to understand how the image data is handled and stored in memory. It's not impossible but it'll take me longer to get my head around it.

(IGIMerge internally has no concept of an image as such - it just iterates through a list of numbers and multiply/adds them to the output.)

My suggestion:
- Zoom buttons could be combined to a drop-down menu

at the end of play today, i have the following (see screenshot)
* added IGIMerge. this was far easier than I expected. :)
* further GUI refinements. I did change around the order of the panels but I also found out why they were in the original order - that was the order in which Violet applies the processing to the image.
* removed the log window and sent all messages to the status bar.

I'm not going to post another patch just yet, we'll see if there's anything else that can be done first.
