Problems with material preview scene

Post by zeitmeister » Wed May 06, 2009 3:54 am

Hi,

I've got a problem with the preview scene.
As you can see at the database, in some renderings the object casts shadow, and in some it don't.
I personally can only produce results like the second case, with no casted shadows...
although I copied everything exactly from the provided "IMPmatdb.igs".

Did you guys use another scene?
Could you (Ono, CTZn, pixie, drBouvierLeduc, ARK, BbB, fused) please provide the correct scene?
Because in your renderings the shadows appear correctly.

Thanks in advance!

I've not been using the preview scene extensively; I think I used the "fixed" one from psychotron for the dichroic glasses tests, you can find it there:

The original scene:

obsolete asset

YES, this is the one I'm talking about! Thanks a lot!
Now, let's translate this blender scene to C4D... :-)

... finished.
Exept of the <env_map>-stuff, nothing has to be copied into the Cindigo-generated *.igs-file. :-)

But I would like the linear tone-mapping much more... darker textures are more visible this way, they come out more natural to me.
All the same values everywhere, but "scale: 2,5" in juction with linear mapping does a better job in my opinion.
