Invalid Materials in the Database

Post by Whaat » Sun Mar 15, 2009 4:55 pm

I am testing all the current materials in the MDB and will post the invalid ones here. Please confirm and remove these materials from the database. Thanks

AcierCorten - Seems to be invalid zip file
Yellow Brick - Seems to be invalid zip file
Checkerboard - Element 'Shader' not found in element 'Shader'

AcierCorten is opening fine with winrar here, indeed it's a rar file; yellow brick was effectively resulting in a broken archive after download, must be nuked. Haven't tested Checkerboard, looks good on first glaze tho.

edit: I'll fix acierCorten.

Dude, I propagated the error in AcierCorten, uv set name is "uv" as in the original RAR file. Will fix.

Some more invalid mats:
Black Ash (wrong texture paths)
Grass (wrong material name reference in blend material)
Strawberry (displacement map in blend material, uv sets not named 'default')
Brick and Grafitti (displacement map in blend material)

Please fix. Thanks!

The MDB is full of faulty stuff.
Just some random non-working mats I found during a very quick testing:

Leaf: No material named "nullMat" defined.
http://www.indigorenderer.com/materials/materials/3

Carpaint: Download not working
http://www.indigorenderer.com/materials/materials/77

Simple carpaint shader:There's a material named "Ground" in the last place?
http://www.indigorenderer.com/materials/materials/26

Who's responsible or who can clean/fix those? Ben?
Also the materials Whaat posted are still there and still NOT WORKING !! Come on guys ! Let's clean the mess.

Just noticed that the dr's grass material is invalid. The Blend material references GrassDumb which does not exist (actually Grass:Dumb)

These invalid materials and other problems with the MDB (which are still not fixed) are just not acceptable for a commercial product. Who's gonna fix this stuff?
