I'm trying to do it without any SSS, but it always turns out too dark. It doesn't seem like milk this should be this hard. lol
SSS just takes way too long. I finally got rid of that polygon effect by using a different material found in another thread. I left it running for about 20 hours (triple core) and it ended up a bit purple on the sides, and brownish in the middle... but still really noisy.
My non-SSS material just isn't bright enough, though. I'll upload my attempts to do that once it's had a couple hours to render.
Any ideas?
Milk?

Okay, so after several days of experimenting I got something I like. I used a completely transparent (IORless, colorless) mesh mixed with an ordinary phong (with some tweaks to the exponent and IOR... I'll post the settings once I've refined it). I then put a slightly smaller milk shaped mesh emitter inside. I may try to make it a cube to save on polygons/render time.
I'll post the final thing here when I'm done.
