Maybe instead of "Download" text, there could be an icon?
Also, a a rating system would be nice.

This may be very individual but whenever a download link is shown in the form of a large image I tend to overlook it. This is probably because some little part of my brain automatically reasons:
if(medium-sized_box && bright_colours){
CriticalThinking.alert("advertisement");
Vision.ignore();
}
I think a text link is more tasteful and quite frankly, it's hardly invisible

Re: Aesthetic nitpick
its not really the size... the site is exceptionally clean and functional atm. never surfed so well imo. dont change anything. perhaps just get the mat db up and running again images create clutter in most cases, text is functional and makes the site more comprehensible. if you want fancy gui, deviantart but then nicks gonna have some extra dev guys to employ. bwahahaha take out a loan for us nick
good work imo benn prefer it.

Instead of a drop down menu, it would be nice, if all the material categories were presented in a flash menu on the right, and when you clicked a category, the mats that went into that category (say "metal") would fade in, in the main window.

dude neo. seriously. this isn't google, there are a handful of people with limited time and resources who are spending their time making indigo kick ass. think. if you can do some of your own dev on your ideas and submit a semi workable moc up then thats different. otherwise. just be happy with what you get
