Ruby is cookin' in the oven

IOR is right (approximate intermediate)

colors vary from ruby to ruby some are darker and some more transparent ranging to creamier to more pure red. So I'm doing also an intermediate color.

Will uopload it tonight.

from very pail to very intensive as well as from quite pink to quite brown, you can have ANY shade of colour with rubies...

Hum, somewhere in the forums, one should still find my own old ruby material where I experimented with blending to get birefringence (in a cheap way)
the results where nice... Maybe the stone was a bit too pink overally. Would've needed a bit more red for my own taste^^

http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/fo ... 09&start=0 - first material is amethyst... Let's see if I also can find the ruby again....

Edit: No, I can't :( - maybe it got lost. (During one of the crashes in the past...)

I just added a dispersion of 0.01375252357359 for good as i dont know the exact diespersion of an emerald... so just update your mat and it will be fine ;)

€dit: http://www.sndgems.com/gemstones/emerald_rings.html says "Emerald Refractive Index: 1.565-1.602; Emerald Dispersion: 0.014" so i'm quite near ;)
