To render efficient FLAT window panes, the only solution is arch glass indeed. Fast and issue-less.
What I would expect, though, is that the other kind of glass would render slower but correctly.
Instead it seems that either you set it arch glass or you won't get a decent result in reasonable render times..

As technology is the fastest developing part of society, in a year or two, it won't be question which glass to use in render, and every render program will be unbased, because comp speed will not be the problem
That's one of the reason for me to use indigo as default render program

Pibuz: they're all pretty much correct. Keep in mind that the first glass type from Saint-godain has dispersion, which is why it's so much slower to render. The other ones are just, as you said, slower. 7 minutes is not much, especially on an i5 processor.
