[Website bug] Manual log-in

Post by AzureSky » Mon Aug 03, 2009 5:43 am

Hey Benn,

I have to keep logging in manually, even though I've checked the 'log me in automatically' option.

About 50% of the time it does log me in automatically, but I often have to do it manually.
(I have cookies enabled. All my browser settings are normal.)

I'm still having to log in manually a lot - even whilst browsing, like now for instance...

What browser are you using AzureSky? Do you have any special privacy settings?

Firefox 3.5.2 - No special settings - all defaults.

One thing which might be playing a role is that my internet connection uses IP Mangling - so it changes IP addresses all the time. If this is playing a role in the cause then it would indicate to me that the website identifies users perhaps primarily on the basis of their IP address and doesn't properly use other criteria (like Cookies,) hopefully that info helps in the trouble-shooting.

Now that I have the same configuration than DougArmand I'm experiencing the error.

I could log in only by clicking the reply button, either what I'm just logged for a fraction of time then out.
I'll try deleting cookies, perhaps I migrated some from my previous OS.

Here''s the page displayed during that time, its url is the login page itself:

edit: this all might be related with the server move isn't it ?

I have to re-log in, constantly, even when I've left the page open in my browser. Also, trying to log in with the forum log in at the bottom never works (keeps giving me that unreadable captcha image). What I have to do is click log-in at the top of the screen, which then thinks I am logged in (even though the forum doesn't think so). Log out, then log in, and then it'll let me into the forums for another period of time.

Something's busted.

I still can't log into Indigo forum with the main form, have to do it through one at the bottom of the forum.
Moreover, on logout i get this, so i can't even log out:

I had another weird login bug yesterday : I appeared as logged, but I was asked login & password to post in the forums. Then, my password was reported as invalid. I was not able to login until I went back to the main page, logged of, then re-logged in.

I can confirm this too. Every time I load indigorenderer.com it says im logged in until I hit the Forum tab in top menu...

If I then click log in, it says I´m logged in, and I try the Forum it says I´m not logged in again...

I have to first click forum tab, then log in, then log out and then log in again and type in name and password too be able to stay logged in when I go to forum....

I tried your cookies link and erased them Ben, but it didn´t help... :?

PS.. using IE8
