Wouldn't it be nice if you could harness the power of those idle computers lying around the house, and shave your rendertime down to a fraction? In a few easy steps you can!

Aimed mainly at Blender & Windows users, but I'm hoping it can be carried over to other platforms.
Enjoy!

Question: Does network rendering allow for a larger image to be rendered that would otherwise give a memory allocation err. on a standalone?

No, as the same scene (and therefore all it's inherent properties) is being rendered on all nodes. So you have to setup the scene to cater for the lowest denominator.

Ok, thanks WytRaven, just was trying to render this huge image without having to rescale and loose the sharpness.

Maybe it's no use, since commercial release, you get one master with master license and nodes with nodes lisences, maybe indigo does that work

Pause --> Add --> Resume?
or
With .igi saving enabled, stop the render and resume with added slave?
I've never tried network rendering so, dont take my word for it

Very cool, i can add - remove - readd slaves whenever i want.
Aditional c2d e7400 2.8GHz to my main c2d e4500 2.2GHz is nice

Worked master is in the 'network rendering pane' of the indigo GUI. I use it all the time

You don't have to pause master to add a slave.

Yes thats good i just yesterday figured it out by accident
Everything is made so easy
But what is optimal display/save periode?
My display periode is 120sec and save periode is 240sec.
Now i have 2 minutes, with old ~12MB/s homenetwork router 1 frame transfer time is about 3-4sec after every 2min.
